Traffic Meter Units Displayed & By Device?

TWC is saying that I have used 693+ GB this month (9/1 to 9/20) compaired to 308 for the previous month. How the heck do I convert the data reported in the traffic meter and is there a report with more detail by device available? Do you think that this is inclusive of LAN traffic?

Re: Traffic Meter Units Displayed & By Device?

Moving forward .......your usage function is not setup so you should set it up.

The numbers shown on the screenshot you posted, to me seem to be WRONG! Maybe because usage was not setup I don't know.

reset the counter, enter the settings and watch it for a few days OR better yet push reset until power LED flashes use defaults to login reset the counter again.

if I used 250GB MY router would display 256000MB

so it would seem something on your end most likely never setting up the usage is why the numbers look ridiculously large

According to today you already used 34GB

Re: Traffic Meter Units Displayed & By Device?

Usage by device...... no

Lan usage is NOT couted toward monthly usage

I've found the usage meter to be spot on with Comcast

That's a great help. However, where did you get the 709632?

Re: Traffic Meter Units Displayed & By Device?

from you........ you stated you used 693GB according to TWC

Try setting the usage option up, enter your ISP limit click up & down usage then your totals should change to a realistic number

example 250GB = 256000MB

               300GB =307200MB

Okay, guess I am still confused. I thought the numbers displayed on the report for that same time period were the accurate numbers. I didn't know how the billions noted converted to GB.

Re: Traffic Meter Units Displayed & By Device?

Not that it matters............ But that FW you listed doesn't match a r7000 which is where you posted.

Re: Traffic Meter Units Displayed & By Device?

That's about right for the usage they are saying I'm using this month. 20 days of that would be 680 gigs. Will try to reset it but hate to loose that data if they start yelling at me about it.

Thanks

Re: Traffic Meter Units Displayed & By Device?

Reset the router and also went into settings, update & security, advanced options then choose how updates are delivered to "OFF". That all seemed to do the trick and we are now looking more normal than ever.

Thanks again for the help.
