Have you done a factory reset and then tried "checking for update"? Have you reseat your SIM card?

Already did four times but still can't update (Even can't manually update due not available "Choose file" button)

Thanks for the solution.  I am from Malaysia with local simcard and unable to update the firmware, and no manul upgrade option available with existing old firmware.  I just change the APN back to default telstra.internet, reboot the router and it can now detect the firmware upgrade.

i m from malaysia ...i also have a problem in upgrading the firmware...

It seems all 3 options doesn't work for me.

Option1: App gives me an error dialog after I click "CHECK FOR UPDATES"

Option2: There is no manual upload option cause my firmware is old.

Option3: The blue button freezes at "CHECKING..." after I click "CHECK FOR UPDATES

even i follow some malaysia user which use celcom simcard with xox apn , still the same which cannot update the firmware...do you mind to help me update the firmware through the OTA...

i have attach together with the screenshot of my device info for you in order for the upgrading the firmware

Hello everybody,

Could sombody advice any solution for updating firmware from NTG9X50C_10.12.02.01 up to latest version for Unlocked Telstra Nighthawk M1 (MR1100)?

(rebooting, default APN, factory reset no have any effect)

@dr_livsi2004 This was a bug the M1 had and from memory it was that version of firmware you have. If your M1 doesn't find the new firmware and update when you click the update firmware button under settings, then you will need to PM one of the netgear employees(maybe @JasonN) here. They will guide you from there on how to manually update the M1. Make sure your battery is charged when you do.

Keep trying to update it, it will eventually find the update and allow you to launch the process.
