MR1100 New Battery Not Charging

I have been using this model for about 2 years. Just recently the battery it came with started to swell, so I bought a new one online. It would not charge (showed an empty battery icon) so I returned it thinking it was a defective battery. I got a new one, different brand, and I’m still having the same problem.

The unit turns on when connected to AC wall socket without battery, and it still works and charges with the old, swollen battery. But when I insert the new battery it immediately goes to a screen with an empty battery icon (no lightning bolt). I left it overnight and it still never charged. Any ideas?

I should mention...I tried rebooting it, a hard factory reset, and I have the latest firmware installed.

Kindly access MR1100 settings page and check TETHERING section. 

 

Go to Setup > Router Setup > Tethering > select Charge only

So I’ve changed tether settings to charge only, still no luck. I even returned the first battery and got another brand new battery. It does the same thing. This is all I get. The original battery still works, except it looks like it’s about to explode. It is so swollen that it won’t stay in and can’t get the back cover on. And it doesn’t seem to want to work with no battery at all. ??? I don’t understand why both brand new batteries won’t do anything but the old gassed up swollen one still works.

Kindly provide as well the M1 SKU (e.g MR1100-100NAS) and firmware version. 

 

Stop using the original (swollen) battery if it appears damaged, swollen, or compromised.

I’ve already returned both of the new batteries, so I no longer have that information. I have been trying to use the M1 without a battery, with mixed results. It will work for a few hours at a time, but seems slow.

Im Having the same problems my origanal battery swelled and I bought A new one and I get Error code 3 Remave battery and usb.. if I plug it in and then put battery in It will not charge the battery??
