Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
Others are posting about the same issue on Reddit right now. Is there anyway to roll these back and keep them on an older firmware version? this is the hotspot recommended by AT&T for first responders. This is not OK.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
I have two of the same hotspots. One on ATT and another on FirstNet. Both are having the same issues since the update. Can't figure out how to roll back the firmware either.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
I should add, a factory reset hasn't helped at all. I wonder what the chance of netgear customer support chiming in to help.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
I have the issue. The only way it works is on Ethernet and if i turn ON and OFF domestic data on the Network settings on the router. Sometimes it last 1hr or 15 mins and everytime i do this it fixes it temp. I hope this issue gets fixed because its really frustrating.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
AT&T technical support reached out to me. The best they could do is tell me they were aware of the issue. They could not deliver a time frame for a fix for it. Only thing I can suggest is to reach out to AT&T to complain. Apparently this update was pushed out by AT&T only for the AT&T specific model.
Obviously netgear has no interest in reaching out to any of us. Not that their customer service is any good. Other netgear devices have been a nightmare to get service for.
My suggestion is to make a post on ATT forums online. Customer service got back to me quick. Technical support followed up in a day or two. If more people complain, it may get them to step it up.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
I have two MR1100 units as well, and the one that upgraded to 12.05.05.12 is totally messed up. I am so glad I sumbled onto this thread, because I am confident that the firmware is the issue since my MR1100 that is still operating with firmware 12.05.05.00 is still able to get data and function properly.
My ISP said they have been bombarded with everyone receiving "broadband disconnected" errors and when the MR1100 that updated finally picks up a signal its incredibly weak and then the error comes back repeatedly.
Why provide the old firmware version in the download section for this router if individuals cannot flash it to the router to fix this mess?!?!?

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
CC55,
Not sure who your ISP is, but AT&T modifies the firmware for them (from my understanding). With their mod, it doesn't allow custom firmware. My update was also forced to my device from AT&T. Other versions of this device can be flashed with custom firmware.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
Iam having issues with the update also. I am not able to get any service when using the ethernet port. I have 2 devices. The first one updated and I lost internet through the ehternet port. I switched to the other device still running 12.05.05.00 and it was working fine. within 24 hours it updated and lost the ethernet port on it also.
any assistance would be appreciated.

We are going to have a new release to fix the reported issue. Would you like to help us to verify it?
Are you using AT&T retail SIM or FirstNet SIM.
Thanks

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
Please let me know the FW version and PRI version on your device.
We didn't expect the issue would happen on MR1100-100NAS. Could you please provide more detailed information on the issue you are experiencing?
Thanks

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
PRI: 04.00
FW: NTG9X50C_12.06.08.00
Edit: Our ISP has told us that several other customer's are experiencing the same exact issue, they provide the devices directly with the T-Mo plans.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
Thanks for the information. We will check and get back to you.
If the issue really applies to 100NAS SKU, I will ask your help to verify the fix as well. But for now, we are focusing on the AT&T SKU.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
I am running an M1 purchased directly from netgear running on T mobile and my unit has been down since 4am est today saying mobile broadband disconnected, running latest firmware. Hearing reports this maybe related to IMIE database issue blacklisting certain devices that are band 14 compatible. Is there any resolution on a fix to get this working?

I don't think your issue is the same as we are discussing here.
Could you please try the SIM card in your phone to see whether it still works?
Thanks

You are not alone.
We are experiencing the same problem. AT&T branded Nighthawk purchased directly from AT&T in the United States. We have the original Nighthawk which does NOT include FirstNet band 14. The ethernet port has worked perfectly for years. Now all of a sudden, the ethernet port no longer works. We have rebooted the Nighthawk numerous times but can not get the ethernet port to work. The Nighthawk reboots successfully without any errors. Everything on the Nighthawk appears to work perfectly except the ethernet port no longer works.
John Peng states "We are going to release a fix soon." Disabling the ethernet port has broken this LTE solution for customers using wired devices. These wired-only customers will not have internet access until the new firmware reaches their Nighthawks. As such please escalate and fast track the new firmware containing the fix through Netgear and AT&T. What date can customers expect to receive the new firmware?

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
Couple of questions. Who else got the updated release client for verification? Who else is not able to install the updated frimware?
I have installed the drivers and run the .exe, I get to a poiont that says switching device to boot and hold mode, then it just stops there. After a couple of minutes it will finally show an error, firmware download failed, primary error code: 67 - firmware update process timeout.
Once this happens the nodem is stuck with only netgear displaying on the screen of the device. I have to remove the battery and disconnect from laptop then it will reset and I can start the whole thing over again.
I have tried multiple cables, I have charged the battery, removed the battery, switched usb port on the laptop.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
I'm running this beta / pre release firmware. Everything seems to be running good on it.
Install was fine. I used Windows 10 on a MacBook Pro running bootcamp. USB C port on nighthawk to USB C port on Mac. Run the .exe file as administrator. It didn't work for me without doing this. The command line window took a few minutes to do everything, but it went through without issue for me. Didn't have to hit any buttons on the Nighthawk or do anything aside from hit the .exe.
Try reinstalling the drivers, though if the device is recognized when plugged in, then the drivers should be working. Also, go into the router settings and make sure USB tethering is turned on and its not set to charge only.
