Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
Sorry for the inconvenience. Please advise your device SKU and FW/PRI version on the device.
I will check internally whether we can reproduce the same issue.
Thanks

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
I was able to get past the boot hold error but then had a different error that would not allow the firmware to download. I sent message back to John explaining and just waiting to see what next step might be.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
So apparently 12.05.05.14 which is what they have sent for us to verify is not even compatible with the AT&T Nighthawk. It seems as if most every post in this thread and the one I started was referring to the AT&T branded Nighthawk. I have spent the last 2 days trying to load firmware onto a device following the instructions given and it wont even work on my device.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
And how long will that be? I have two devices that are useless to me right now because i cannot use the Ethernet ports on them that are AT&T devices. I feel i was very clear about that in both this thread and the one I created.i was only following instructions to install the firmware provided by you.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
The botched firmware update that disabled the ethernet port was reported to Netgear on Jan 15. As this broke the device for wired customers you would think Netgear would resolve the issue in 1 or 2 business days. Now it's Jan 26. No resolution yet. And when customers repeatedly ask Netgear when the fix will arrive, there is no response.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
The beta software they sent me was 12.05.05.13 I think. Running good on the ATT B14 Nighthawk. Device isn't overheating anymore either while charging.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
Apparently there are multiple AT&T SKUs. The release they sent to me was for MR1100-2A1NAS and could not be flashed to mine. When I inquired they stated there would be a release today for verification but I have yet to recieve it. The SKU for mine is MR1100ABS-2A1NAS.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
Interesting. Mine does not have the ABS. Just the MR1100-2A1NAS. I wonder what the differences are between the devices.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
So apparently the ABS SKU is an enterprise unit and was not intended to allow for USB or Ethernet tethering. However prior to the update to 12.05.05.12 I was able to connect to an external router so I could provide internet to my house, I live in a rural area. I will have to check when I get home but I believe I am still able to tether over USB after the update.
This whole update has been a mess it seems.
The left and right hands don't seem to have any idea what the other is doing.
I was able to find the 12.06.08.00 firmware online and I am thinking about just trying to flash that to the ones I have and see what happens. At this point I dont really have much else to lose.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
Interesting. I relied on the Ethernet tethering at my old house. Device worked perfectly to provide internet. Depending on what my current internet provider wants to offer me when my contract is up, I may use it again.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
I didn't clarify. I used to use the Ethernet port. Now I just use it as a hotspot when I am at work on the road. Aside from testing, I don't mess with any of the ports on the device. I tested the Ethernet port after updating to 12.05.05.13 and it worked fine for the quick five minute plug in.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
Same Question! My AT&T MR1100-1A1NAS-6112B w/ firmware NTG9X50C_12.05.05.12 is virtually a brick. Great signal with no data pass-through on wi-fi. We had to purchase another HotSpot because we use this for our business. Very Frustrating! Please come up with a solution for us! @JohnPeng

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
I am having the same issue with our FirstNet MR1100 after they automatically updated to 12.05.05.12. I would be willing to test Firmware for FirstNet devices. I have veified that it was 12.05.05.12 that caused the issue after they upgraded.
Other Info that may be helpful:
MR1100-1A1NAS_04.01.70.06
Hardware version 1.0
PRI version
04.04
Firmware\bootloader version
NTG9X50C_12.05.05.12
Please message me if you need more information. Looking to get this test firmeware "if possible" before the weekend.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
Hi @JohnPeng
My SKU = MR1100-1A1NAS
This is a consumer AT&T branded Nighthawk purchased directly from AT&T.
The last firmware update disabled the ethernet port. We need the ethernet port turned back on as soon as possible.

Re: Nighthawk M1 Killed by FW 12.05.05.12
All 3 of my hotspots quit after the update. I discovered 2 things in troubleshooting. Turning on Client Provacy under router options let most devices connect to the internet including the ethernet port. Most connectivity issues were from Windows computers. Changing the WiFi connection options in Windows 10 to randomize the MAC address everytime it connected to WiFi allowed my laptops to connect. All 3 are working for now, but segregated traffic is not ideal.
