If I buy a replacement D7000 V2, can I just backup settings from my old V1 model and restore onto the V2 model?
Thanks.

Well I replaced the D7000 last night with a Billion 8800AXL and so far so good.
Connection did not drop overnight - unlike the D7000 and the Billion is now synching at around 72000 Kbps downstream and 20000 upstream.
Whereas the D7000 was maxing out at 20000 up & down
The D7000 is less than 18months old, so a bit pants that a £150 router lasts less than 2 years.
Also, Netgear support is a bit useless. I eventually found the RMA page, only to be told they will take 48hrs to get back to me. Or that I could ring the Premium hotline but that would cost money, apparently the free support is only for the first 90 days!

Re: Can I transfer settings backup from D7000 V1 to D7000 V2?
It is unlikely that this will work. V1 and V2 are different hardware versions. There's chance that they contain different chips which means that the memory for the firmware may be different.
It isn't even a good idea to restore settings between different firmware versions of the same hardware let alone between different hardware versions.

Thanks for the reply.
I have decided to get a Billion router instead - my wife reminded this is the 3rd Netgear that I have had reliability issues with over the past years.
Whereas my previous Billion was still working fine when I sold it after more than 2 years use....
