D6400 NBN VOIP

Is there an issue running VOIP via the D6400 on Australia's NBN FTTN services? I can receive calls but no make them.

Hi DarrenM,

We recently moved to NBN from ADSL2+ using our Netgear D6400 and an ATA from the provider to provide the Analogue to IP conversion for voice. Internet is working perfectly and we can receive VOIP calls without issue. The only problem is outgoing voice calls - receiving a recorded message that our call (reading back the number dialled correctly) has been rejected by the provider "due to error code 400".

 

Have you seen this before?

Does the ATA need any type of port forwarding?

We are using an Obihai OBI302 and there is no mention of Port Forwarding being required

What ports should I keep open on my router/firewall?

In order for your OBi to be able to send packets w/o interruption, please configure your router as follows: 

Allow Outgoing: 
TCP Ports: 6800, 5222, 5223 
UDP Ports: 5060, 5061, 10000 to 11000, 16600 to 16998, 19305 
Allow Incoming on UDP Port: 10000
