D7000v2 drops internet connection around 5+ times a day

Firmware version : V1.0.0.66_1.0.2

Around 5+ times a day our D7000v2 has been dropping out enitrely , normally this is fixed with a couple restarts and re-entering the isp username and password in the router settings but im wondering if there is anything else that could help with stopping the drop outs.

You must have the V2 to be on that firmware version.

but its still a little out of date.

Have you tried updating the firmware?

Within a couple hours of updating the internet has already disconnected twice. There has been no improvement from the firmware change unfortunately

are you on dsl?

Or what are you using for a gateway?

When it drops, what actually happens? Does it say "connected, no internet", does the wifi stop broadcasting, does it broadcast but you can't connect? What actually happens

Some issues apply to just about every router, but sometimes it helps to ask the experts on your hardware.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

DSL Modems & Routers

As DSL depend a lot on how the ISP runs it, it might help of you said who supplies your Internet.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
