I see posts with the same symptoms dating back years, and still no valid solution to this.
The router is brand new and running v1.0.1.56 which is the latest at this time.
The Cat5e/Cat6 Ethernet connections will randomly stop working, usually overnight. They will either maintain their IP, but be unable to communicate with the router, or lose their IP. Either way, I cannot renew the lease and get an IP from those devices. Wi-Fi devices continue to work fine the entire time. I've only recently added a second device which connects over Cat6, so I'll see if the drops are always happening at the same time, or if there's ever a case where one works and the other doesn't.
Disabling and then re-enabling the devices' adapters does not resolve the issue.
Rebooting the devices does not resolve the issue.
Only powercycling the D7800 will resolve the issue.
Already tried updating the firmware. That's how I got to v1.0.1.56.
Already tried factory resetting the D7800, then reconfiguring it.
If anyone tells me to update drivers on my various devices, know that some of them are embedded devices which don't allow for that, and that they have all been working fine under the older and much less expensive router which I thought I was upgrading from.
