DGND3300 Static routes limitations?
DGND3300 Static routes limitations
Hi Netgear Forum
I have just had my basic adsl line upgraded to give me 8 extra static IP addresses as I only had the 1 static IP address on the line previously and i'm looking to close down my other SDL line that has my servers on and move everything over to this line.
The new range they have given me is not on the same range as the router externally and I wanted to test it was all working but it seems the "static routes" on the DGND3300 will not do the NAT to different IP segments. Can anyone confirm this please.
It looks like it will only except static routes on the internal range destination and gateway!
I have a CISCO box on my other internet connection that will do this but can't move it over without taking down the other systems for a while and I don't want to do this.
1) should this router be able to map these external IP addresses to internal range even though routers external IP address is on a different range to my new external extra IP's
2) will i be able to plug my other cisco SA-520 firewall into this Router / Modem or am I going to have to get a new modem?
Hopefully I have explain myself clearly
Thanks in advance
🙂

Re: DGND3300 Static routes limitations?
You can NOT use DGND in router mode to uses multiple public IP.
You need to use bridge capable modem or DGND in modem only.

Re: DGND3300 Static routes limitations?
Not all DGNDxx model can not do modem mode. Search like DGND2xxx model in the forum and see if you can put in modem mode.
Otherwise get basic dsl modem from your ISP that will do bridge mode
