One more thing I forgot to mention about the extender or the repeater. Lets say you have 2 rooms opposite to each other. but the distance between them is 15m like the one i have. You have to put the repeater in the middle of the 2 rooms to grab the signal from the main router.
I found that the signal in the 2nd room is OK( Not Great ). once you move back to sit in the 1st room ( WHERE YOU HAVE THE MAIN ROUTER DNDG3700v2 ), the signal dropped down even more like there is nothing around.

Try the online "chat" facility at Netgear Support I found it good.

Sorry for no reply,away for a few days. It was the support that suggested a fixed channel and to enable WMM in Qos settings. This has greatly improved things,I use channel 1.
So I suppose the answer is yes.
