DM111PSPv2 warranty
Does anyone know what the 'limited warranty' means? Our modem (Broadband ADSL2+ DM111PSPv2) stopped working and after trouble shooting with our ISP, it was determined to be the modem. Got a new modem and we are able to get back on the internet. The information on the website indicates "This product is backed by a NETGEAR limited 1-year Hardware Warranty". When we called to request a RMA number so the modem could be returned, the representative said she could see that it was warranted through this month but we had to pay $75.00 for an extended warranty. They would then run a test and if the product needed to be replaced, they wouldn't charge the $75.00. The only way we could return the modem is to commit $75.00. Why is this? It cost $49.99 when it was purchased less than a year ago so why do we have to pay $75.00 for an extended warranty?

Sounds like you got sucked into the usual support scam. Hit the phone and they want money.
The one-year warranty should not need an extended warranty to get a replacement.
It is usually easier, it seems, to initiate the RMA process through the on-line interface.
That is one reason for registering products with MyNetgear.
I am surprise that you managed to buy a DM111PSPv2 recently. It dates back to 2011. There hasn't been a firmware update in near on two years.
By the way, the specifications of this device are basic. Slow LAN (at 100 Mbps). No wifi.
