Download speeds slow DM200

Got tired of paying Cincinnati Bell for a modem every month so I bought a DM200 modem.  After I turned it on and it made a connection the download speeds are less than half what it was on the CB modem.  changed to bridge mode and it is the same. the upload speed stayed the same.  CB modem 27Mbps -- DM200 11Mbps.

Any suggestions?

   Does (did?) your Cincinnati Bell DSL service use a bonded pair of
lines?

   Changing from using a bonded pair to using half of a bonded pair
might explain a factor-of-two decrease in speed.
