Help to connect to set up D7000
Trying to connect this product keep getting a message when I try to login to the router setup which says....
Configure the internet connection you are not yet connected to the internet select country......
The thing is I am connected to the internet. I am hot spotting from my phone. I have cleared the. Chrome cache and dropped my firewalls.
At my wits end right now been round in circles for 3hrs and can't find a flipping phone number on here to save my life.
This router/modem was totally working fine until my son did a factory reset earlier today

D7000[v1] or D7000v2? Look for "Model" on the product label.

"try" _how_, exactly?

And did you follow the instructions?

Did you think that getting Internet access through your phone would
help to configure the Internet connection through your D7000[vX]? If
your car wan't start, do you think that taking a bus or taxi will repair
your car?
Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual (at least). Read.

It's not published.

Did he save the old/working settings before resetting them? Look for
"Manage the Configuration File of the Modem Router" in the User Manual.
(For next time.)

Good grief Katey why did your son do a factory reset? Now you have to set the thing up as if you had just taken it out of the box, starting with accessing it on your LAN and setting-up your ISP.

Excellent question! One week without pocket money?
As @tominwi says, the first move is to get the modem back in business.
The best bet is to get the Quick Start Guide and follow the instructions.
If you visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
you can feed in your model number and find the documentation for your hardware.
Look for the model number on the label on the device.
Because he has reset it, the modem/router will probably try to guide you through the set up process.
Before you can get anywhere you need the login details that your Internet service provider uses for its service. Usually just a username and password. Sometimes it is just the email address that the ISP gave you and no need for a password.
If you are lucky the setup wizard will do the heavy lifting. Maybe that is what you are seeing.
Then again, I don't understand this bit:
I am hot spotting from my phone.
I'd expect that to mean that you are using your mobile phone to get at the internet with its own account, not the ISP's phone line, or however you get on line with the DSL modem/router.
