Netgear DVG1000 - Netgear Genie

I have a Netgear DVG1000, I have downloaded the Netgear Genie software so that I could use the parental controls.  I am running Windows 10 on my PC (if that info is needed).  When I connet to the Genie app I can see all the buttons and the program connects to my WiFi but it will not let me access the parental controls (checking router firmware -- try again) or the router settings (its times out).

Please could someone offer me some advice.

The DVG1000 is a ISP supported device and it may not have the parental controls function you will have to contact your ISP for support on this device.
