Netgear d6400 Sky settings not saved
Hi,
Appologies if this has been asked before.
I have bought a new D6400 to run on Sky Fibre broadband and I am just unable to get it to connect
The setting don't seem to save in the Internet form
I have set the Country as UK and Provider as SKY however when I select PTM and VDSL2 after saving it reverts back to ATM and Auto
I have followed the posts on how to extract the username and password and have also entered the MAC address of the Sky 102 router.
I have also upgraded the firmware to v1.0.0.34 still no joy, I have also performed a reset but it is still the same
Any help appreciated

Re: Netgear d6400 Sky settings not saved
I finaly got this sorted but it took an age to figure it out.
Hopefully you will already have the username and password plus the router MAC address before you go any further
How to extract the Username & Password
For Sky Fibre broadband the following settings apply
Country = UK
ISP = Sky
Transfer Mode = PTM
DSL Mode = VDSL2
Internet = Enable this Interface
Use VLANID = Ticked select 101
Priority = 0
Does your Internet connection require a login? = No
Account Name (If Required) = D6400 (autofilled)
Domain Name (If Required) = BLANK (Do not put anything just leave blank)
Internet IP Address = Select Get Dynamically from ISP
Domain Name Server (DNS) Address = Select Get Dynamically from ISP
NAT (Network Address Translation) = Enable
Router MAC Address = MAC address of the Broadband port (WAN) in the form of C0:3E:0F:xx:xx:xx
DHCP Options = Client Identifier String (option 61) ussername and password taken from the Wireshark capture (c03e0fxxxxxx@skydsl|12345678) make sure the | 'pipe' is in between the username and password
The biggest issue for me was conflicting advice between the D6400 and the D7000 where users have said that they use the Sky username and password in the Account Name fields, but you need to make sure it is in the option 61 field
Hopefully it will be a bit easier for you than it was for me.

Re: Netgear d6400 Sky settings not saved
Hi,
Is this "Router MAC Address = MAC address of the Broadband port (WAN) in the form of C0:3E:0F:xx:xx:xx" is
A) The MAC address of the Sky Router (spoof)
B) The MAC address printed on the bottom of the D6400
C) A 3rd and more exotic option
I haven't set the router up yet as i'm waiting for my Sky installation but I just want everything ready for a quick switch soon as the engineer has left.

Re: Netgear d6400 Sky settings not saved
I have plugged my router netgear model 6400 to the phone line and to the power.
After selecting sky and uk, i see a screen with "client identifier string (option 61), use vlanid with the calue 101, and Mac clone (××:xx:..). I tried to enter the mac of my sky router, but it doesnt connect and after 1 mn, i have another screen saying network connection issue, do you want to try netgear genie again, i click yes, and then another screen comes with login name, password, then use vlanid with value 101. I type my sky network name (sky 06...) and my wifi password but it doesn't work either (tried my user name and password to access to sky.co.uk and my account but it didn't work eitther.
Does someone know how to address this issue?
Many thanks

Re: Netgear d6400 Sky settings not saved
It is important that they match or the router will not connect.
The username and password is not your sky account or wifi password it is a specific account that identifies your router.

Having a foreign Mac might raise a problem if you have a issue with your link.

Re: Netgear d6400 Sky settings not saved
Yeah the Sky Router MAC address is part of your username so I think it makes sense to use it as well instead of the Netgear routers MAC address
