Unwrapped my Netgear DGND4000 and NO 5G service, there is a blue light on the router

I bought this a couple of months ago and finally opened the box and unwrapped it.

I found a time while the family are not home to configure it and all went reasonable smoothly.

Then i used my wifi Analyser app and checked the radio was on a clear channel

2.4Ghz on 6, as one neighbor is on 1 and the other on 11, cool.

5Ghz there is nothing, no Radio signal at all.

I checked the config and it is all enabled, but nothing.

There is a blue light on the modem 5G ?

I did a quick speed test on the modem, about 1/2 the internet speed of my old Huawei modem, will have to look at tuning that as well.

Switched back to the other, any ideas ?

Or is it just broken.

Is this wifi Analyser app running on a 5G capable device?

A fairly common response to questions on this issue is that people are trying to connect a device that does not see 5G.

One recent complainant was mortified to discover that a new laptop couldn't see 5G. Turned out that the laptop didn't support 5G.

I used the same app on the same device to set and check the channels on my currently working router, so yes the device does use both 2.4 and 5Gig.

though I have had it a few months it is brand new just out of the box for the first time.
