wifi issue in 2 different product
I am having issues with two netgear products:
- D6200
It was working perfectly when I suddenly encountered the following issue:
Any device which doesn’t have Wifi N, (therefore only can use 2.4ghz) are not able to see my SSID. While other devices that use 5ghz will.
I tried the following:
- Move the location of the router in a totally different area.
Result: the 2.4ghz SSD appeared for a few moments but was on and off
- Updated the firmware, and reset the device various times
Result: Nothing changed, same issue
- Changed all the channels of the Wifi
Result: Nothing changed, same issue
- DGN3500
The wifi connection comes and goes.
I tried the following:
- Updated Firmware
Result: Same issue
- Reset
Result: Same issue
Any idea? Should I consider these two devices as faulty?
Thank you
note:
My pc is running on a windows 10.
2.4 device are a huawei android phone and a asus tablet with windows 10
The DGN 3500 is installed in a different place in a different house

Re: wifi issue in 2 different product
802.11n is able to operate on both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.
A device which does not support 802.11n may have problems associating with the 2.4GHz band if in the router settings you have set the Link Rate to anything above 54Mbps.

Re: wifi issue in 2 different product
Sorry about the confusion. What I meant was: The devices that don't support 5ghz (but have wifi N)

Re: wifi issue in 2 different product
Well it might still be worthwhile trying the various WiFi Link Rate options, and changing the 20/40MHz option.
