Is this a new installation, or are you replacing some old
modem(+router)? (How was the old one configured?)

Ok. Are there any special characters in these credentials? Those
can cause problems.

What _does_ it do? LED indicators? Visit http://netgear.com/support
, put in your model number, and look for Documentation. Get the User
Manual. Look for the LED descriptions and "Troubleshoot".

Re: D6400 trouble conecting to internet
> [...] the genie app [...]
Which "the genie app"? Ever helpful, Netgear uses the name "Genie"
for more than one thing. Netgear routers have a web-browser interface
called "Genie", and Netgear offers application programs for various
computers/tablets/phones, which are also called "Genie". (I'd stick
with the web-browser interface.)
> Transfer mode: atm
I'd expect "VDSL (PTM)", not "ADSL (ATM)" if the connection is VDSL.
> [...] my adsl subscription [...]
Does your ISP say that you (still) have ADSL service, not VDSL[2]
service?
> 4. DSL line Type: VDSL
Hmmm. Someone seems to be confused. Perhaps it would help to reset
the D6400, and configure it manually, using the web-browser interface,
instead of any app or wizard. I'd look at the DSL settings of the old
modem, and see how closely you can make the D6400 match them.
> Led light of of adls is green and stable but internet icon is orange
If the DSL indicator is happy, then you would seem to have a good
DSL link, but whether it's ADSL or VDSL is still a mystery. ADVANCED >
ADVANCED Home : Internet Port : Show Statistics might tell you more
about the DSL link.

I wouldn't think so. But, the D6400 DSL configuration "wizard" might
make mistakes with an unfamiliar ("Other") ISP.

Re: D6400 trouble conecting to internet
You seem to have an ADSL connection.
Have you filled in the login details for your ISP?
I can't see that in your messages.

It could be.

There are some "region" settings in the device.
There is support for the D6400, including a manual, somewhere at the end of this link:
>>>> D6400 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<<
Most of the region settings are about the Wifi. You could poke around in there and do some experiments.
There may be other tricks that you can do with Telnet at the firmware level. (If that is gibberish, don't feel insulted, this really is arcane stuff that most people rightly avoid.) But that depends on tracking down the commands and the settings.
One problem is that hackers put less effort into tweaking modem routers than plain routers. That's why there isn't much in the way of third party firmware for modem routers.
None of that is for the faint hearted or for beginners like me. Maybe one of the real experts can help you. Maybe someone where you are has messed around with these things.
