Sitting on the couch with my iPad & iPhone both connected to my Netgear Router. ISP is Comcast.
i notice the iPad performance seems slow. I run a speed test via the Ookla Speed Test App and get results of 3.05 download & 4.02 upload 😞 . I pull out my iPhone and run the same speed test via the same App and get speeds of 170 download & 12 upload. These are the speeds I expect.
my kids frequently complain of slow internet & I'm thinking they are probably getting slow speeds as well. What would cause the varying speeds per device(s)?

Hi @RobInDaBurgh,
1. Please try connecting the iPad to the 5GHz band and check if the issue persists.
2. Please make sure that the iOS version is up to date.
3. Please make sure the other wireless devices in the network are connected to the 5GHz band if possible.
4. You can check with a WiFi analyzer app to check for interference and try changing the wireless channel.

You mention connecting to the 5GHZ band. How do you do that? All devices are connecting to the same SSID.

Re: R6300v2 Router Getting Varying Speeds Per Device
I'm also using the Netgear Genie App. If I click on the 'Network Map' icon it shows me every connected device on my network. I'm sitting in the same room as my Netgear router. I found my iPhone on the Network Map and it shows connection at 100% with Link rate at 433Mbps. I find my iPad and it shows a connection at 100% but link rate at 58Mbps.

Re: R6300v2 Router Getting Varying Speeds Per Device
Hi @RobInDaBurgh,
1. Your router is a dual band router. It can broadcast both on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz band.
2. Please check the wireless settings of the router and make sure you differentiate the 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSID (you can put 2G and 5G at the end).
3. Check if the iPad can detect the 5GHz SSID. If it does not, please check if it supports it (older devices may not support it).
