Netgear genie not working due to IPv6 being enabled

Netgear genie not working due to IPv6 being enabled

I use netgear genie to block my kids from the wifi after hours. I was able to use it last night and this morning and now I'm not able to use it this evening, the message says my router is not supported or I need to make sure IPv6 is disabled. Has anyone experienced this and have a solution?

Hi @mrichie and @chellelee8,

Please try using another device (Android, iOS, another computer) that is connected to the network.

Same problem. Worked for months now all the sudden the app stopped working and says check for IPv6 connection.
Extremely frustrating.

1. What is the model number and firmware version of the router?

2. What version of NETGEAR Genie do you have installed?

3. Have you tried using another device (smartphone, tablet, PC)?

4. Please try uninstalling and re-installing the program/app.

I also deleted the app for a couple days and reinstalled it and it worked after that. We will see how long it works for. Curious what caused it.

After rebooting the router, I can't connect to the router with Netgear Genie or http://192.168.1.1/ or http://www.routerlogin.net/

 

For the web interface I get the message 192.168.1.1 refused to connect. or www.routerlogin.net refused to connect.

For Netgear Genie I get the message

NETGEAR router is not found or is not supported. Also make sure the device is not connected to the guest network of the router, and no IPv6 is enabled.

 

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Netgear Genie but that didn't help

I'm connected using a wired connection.

Getting to the internet over a wired or wireless connection is still working, I just can't get to the admin screens.

The network map no longer shows the names of connected devices, just the IP addresses.

3. Have you tried using another device to access the UI or connect through the Genie app?

I purchased a
WNR2000V5 specifically to use the genie parental controls. However, I have not been able to log in to the genie app. I receive this message on my samsung galaxy:

"Login failed. The NETGEAR router was not found or is not supported. Make sure that your mobile device is not connected to the router's guest network and that IPv6 is not enabled."
I've disabled my guest network, so I know that's not the problem. I cannot find an option to enable iPv6. I've rebooted the router and reinsalled the genie app.What else can we do to get this working?

I am having the same problem, would love to know how to fix this.  I updated Genie to newest version, that didn't help either.  I have the R700 model.
