R6100 not updating to latest firmware

Hello,
I received an email from Netgear earlier to update my R6100 to latest version firmware v1.0.1.28 . When I try through the genie app on my Samsung galaxy s7 smartphone to update it says I have the most updated firmware but it's still at v1.0.1.22 . My genie app version is 3.1.78 and the new nighthawk app does not support my router. Any ideas? Please help,

You can login to the router via a browser at routerlogin.net  

From there you can auto update (I don't recommend) or you can manually update it. I highly recommend updating it over a hardwired connection and resetting afterwards. Tends to give you the best results and least problems.
