M1400 Time Config
So I'm configuring the SNTP settings, and get to the Offset and Zone. Not being sure how these fields are to be filled, I look at Help.
Offset - This field is used to configure Recurring offset.
Zone - This field is used to configure Zone.
Seriously? :smileymad:
So really....what units go here (seconds, minutes....), and what's expected in the zone field?

Hi JohnO2016
You can refer to the M4100 Web GUI User Manual starting page 37: << View or Set the System Time >>.
Specifically for the Zone (how you name your time zone) and the Offset (hours and minutes difference from UTC) on page 40:
16. Use Time Zone Name to specify the time zone name. The time zone can affect the display of the current system time. The default value is UTC.
17. Use Offset Hours to specify the number of hours difference from UTC. You can configure a time zone specifying the number of offset hours and optionally the number of offset minutes that the switch’s time zone is different from UTC. The allowed range is -24 to 24. The default value is 0.
18. Use Offset Minutes to specify the number of minutes that the switch’s time zone is different from UTC. The allowed range is 0 to 59. The default value is 0.
Let us know how we can help you more.

Thanks for the info, we're getting closer. :-)
So for Zone, is it looking for EDT or CST or something like that? Or something like UCT-5?
Same for Offset, my switch doesn't indicate hours or minutes. Using "1" could give very different results depending what the switch is expecting. Maybe it's "1h" or "60m"?? (And really....there are two small places on the planet that do anything other than one hour...)
Thanks again!

For Zone, this is text box for your convenience only. Name your time zone the way you like, this is for your own use.
Offset hours / minutes are the important parameters, where you specify how far you are from UTC.
Now I realize you named this post M1400, and I have read it as M4100 instead.
If you don't see hours and minutes in the Web interface, the same way we show them in M4100 Web GUI User Manual starting page 37: << View or Set the System Time >> and more specifically for the Zone and the Offset on page 40, then we may be confused. Which switch do you have?
Can you check? Please kindly go to System-> Management-> System Information as described on page 23 of our M4100 Web GUI User Manual
Please copy and paste here full text on the right side of Product name.
