M4250 - 404 Not Found when trying to enter the Main UI

Hi all,

We have a bunch of M4250 switches that have been working fine for a year or so.

Suddenly, we can't login into the Main UI (classic configuration) one one of them.
When we click the Main UI Login button we get a "404 not found" error. The URL its trying to open is: http://169.254.100.100/v1/base/cheetah_login.html

The AVI UI Login works, but we need access to more granular settings.

We have tried the following - all to no avail:
- hard reset of the switch (hold the button for 15sec)
- Upgraded firmware to latest greatest.

- Tested with different laptops/browsers

Does anyone have other suggestions for thing to try before we declare this unit dead?

Best regards,
Kim

This is a Link-Local LAN IP, in use only if the DHCP does not assign an IP address (the switch stack does fall-back to the Link-local address, as described in Unable to access a M4100 series user interface by HTTP or Telnet - different/older model, still applicable here.

Re: M4250 - 404 Not Found when trying to enter the Main UI

Hi Kurt,

The switch has a static IP address and my IP is in the same range and subnet as the switch.

I have tried resettings the switch using the ezconfig, but it didn't make any difference.

I can ping and login to the switch via the AV UI - no problem.

It is just the Main UI that is unavailable.

Best regards,

Kim

Re: M4250 - 404 Not Found when trying to enter the Main UI

Hi guys,

Same problem here, after updating to firmware 13.0.4.17, I cannot access anymore to the main UI, and I noticed also that when save and upload a configuration file some configuration doesn't update correctly. I also checked the ".cfg" file and it seems that everything is ok, I'll post it here:

As you can see in this .cfg file there is a vlan 17, named:"VIDEO EXTENDER 5", associated to port 10. The problem is that when I upload this .cfg file on the switch there is nothing on port 10!

I'm not an expert IT manager, so maybe I'm doing something wrong, if you any advice please reply to this post!

Thanks!

Please start with a new thread instead of capturing another old thread, focusing on a different subject.

Briefly looking over your config shows 10 ports, copper each configured as an access port for a dedicated VLAN each, and fiber port 11 is configured for VLAN 1 only, but not as an untagged aces port, much more likely tagged only.

Completely in the dark how the other ports should ever talk to a probably existing environment on VLAN 2-6 and 13-17 (where VLAN 2 isn't in use anywhere). Similar, the extender on port 10 is an access port for VLAN 17. What exactly you expect to "see" on port 10 is outside of my crystal ball. How should this be related to the default management VLAN 1?
