M4300 blocking layer 2 PTP messages
Hi,
I have been trying to use a couple of Blackmagic Design IP Video 12G usits with this switch. They use 1588-2008 but on layer 2 (have raised this with them, but I doubt they will change it to layer 3 any time soon), and this traffic does not pass through the M4300 series switches. I have confirmed this with both the units (all set themselves to Master) and with the Meinberg PTP Track Hound software running on a PC on the same VLAN. Changing the VLAN to one with some Ravenna/DANTE/AES67 devices on (on layer 3 PTP) produces the expected traffic from these devices, so it would appear to just be the layer 2 traffic that is blocked. PTP E2E TC is not enabled, IGMP is, device is not the querier. Testing on another switch shows the traffic.
Firmware is 12.0.11.15
Any ideas how I can get around this?

I suspect a configuration issue if Layer 3 works but not Layer 2. In order to review we will need you to run the latest software. Please upgrade to 13.0.13.7 here https://www.netgear.com/support/product/m4300-52g-poe-plus%20550w%20psu.aspx#download
Then, please export the tech-support file out of the switch (if using the Web UI, Maintenance/Export/HTTP File Export/Tech Support in the drop-down menu list).
