STP Bridge Priority
We are wanting to change our Bridge Priority to a lower number on one of our switches so that it will become the Root Bridge. If we make this change what can we expect to happen? Will it cause an outage after we make this change? I want to make sure I don't have to schedule a planned outage by doing this during normal hours. Our models are the GSM7248 and the GS748TPS. Thanks!

Re: STP Bridge Priority
Hi MEI_IT,
Welcome to Netgear Community!
Yes, Spanning-tree will re-convergence when you change Bridge Priority, it will re-select Root Bridge and select discarding port. So the traffic will interrupt and the interrupt time is related with Spanning-tree protocal(STP, RSTP, MSTP).
