ReadyNAS 2100 Fan Concerns

I've recently picked up a Netgear ReadyNAS 2100 online second hand, but in very good condition. I've been very impressed with it so far and I'm already on the lookout for a second one, although I've got a few concerns that I'm hoping someone on here will be able to put to rest.
The first of my worries is that it seems very noisy (to me at least), not enough to be a problem but I don't want to ignore it if It's going to cause more problems down the road.
Under the Status/Health I have this;
One fan running fairly fast, and then a second one at 0 (Out of Spec). Is this normal? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

- I believe the rack mount readynas units are much noisier than the desktop units.
There are supposed to be 2 fans that run at high speeds so what you are seeing is not normal. Have you checked the fans to see, it seems one is broken?
There is an addon that you can install that reduces the fan speeds and makes the unit less noisy, although the fan speeds may have been modified in one of the firmware releases. What firmware is running on the unit?

You bought the unit second hand which is generally not advised as the units often have problems that are difficult or impossible to fix. I would not recommend buying another second hand unit.

Yeah I suspected as much about the rack mount's but the noise Isn't really a problem as my rack is in a separate part of the house. If theres supposed to be two fans running theres a problem with at least one of them, when I get some time over the next couple of days I'll open up the unit and see if I can see any obvious problems.
As for the second hand units, they fit my needs much better than brand new units do or at least in this situation. I can get them for a fraction of the price and I enjoy the troubleshooting/tinkering of a second hand unit (within reason of course), to me that's just part of the fun! And besides that, I'm not using them for anything mission-critical, just on a home network for basic shared storage. Thanks for the heads up though, I'll definitely be more vigilant if I do end up purchasing another. - In my area, the NAS occasionally show up on local second hand sites (e.g., craigslist, etc). If you are looking for second hand kit, its worth keeping an eye there, since you can see/check them out prior to purchase.

- I think I'm going to need to replace the broken fan in my first 2100 as I don't want to just rely on the remaining one. I'm fairly confident with building/upgrading PC's but I'm new to the ReadyNAS world. Could someone help me with the model number of the fan that I'd need, and where I would be able to find one? Any help at all would be appreciated, thanks.
