ReadyNas Duo V1 HDD compatibility

Question

With the constant change in HDD, I was looking at upgrading my HDD on my trusty Readynas Duo V1.&nbsp;&nbsp;Can someone tell me the max TB allowed and what they are running?&nbsp;Thanks

The v1 doesn't support GPT formatting, so it is limited to 2 TB drives. &nbsp;A WD20EFRX (or a 2 TB Seagate Ironwolf) are good choices.

Just 4 weeks ago uprgraded my Duo v1 with 2×Seagate Ironwolf 2TB. Everything went perfectly fine during the upgrade&amp;expansion process. What is titbit that printserver function works much faster now than before the upgrage (it used to be really slow). BUT the temp. of the new disks is between 32 and 34 Celsius AND fan revs at approx. 1750 rpm. That's too noisy for me. Room temp. is around 21'C here. Need to replace fan now for quiet one.

As can be read in other threads, I recently upgraded to Seagate Ironwolf 2TB drivers.Apart from the first drive being DoA, the new pair of Seagates works as could be desired.&nbsp;They have an added advantage to the old (5 years or more) WD they replace:The Ironwolfs run several several degrees Celcius cooler then the old WDs!The Seagates are aroudn 36-37 degrees in my installation, slightly higher when doing lots of works, whereas the Western Digitals were alway in the 43-46 degrees range.&nbsp;This means that the FAN in the Duo rarely have to crank up to higher revolutions, meaning the the installation is a lot quieter now! Horray!&nbsp;
