Management service is offline

I have updated my firmware to 6.7.1

Noticed that Plex was showing OFF

Each time I tried to switch to ON it would give an error

Decided to reboot

Now I cannot access the Admin page and RAIDar shows Management Service is Offline

Tried to download logs but this fails as well

Have tried to reinstall firmware but no change.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Management service is offline

This means your 4GB root volume is full. You could use the du command to find why it's full

e.g.

# mount --bind / /mnt
# du -csh /mnt/*

Re: Management service is offline

I would try over-installing the firmware again - might not work, but shouldn't do any harm.

Hi Mixster181,

Since your box has already been on 6.7.1, if you want to reinstall the firmware, you can do a os-reinstall from the boot menu. Please follow this guide: https://kb.netgear.com/22892/How-do-I-access-the-boot-menu-on-my-ReadyNAS-102-202-212-or-312

Re: Management service is offline

OK, so logged in as "root"

When I run the command in gives error "No space left on device"??

Can you advise what this means and how to fix?

Re: Management service is offline

Thx again.

Moved data and created a link.

Reinstalled firmware with success and now all seems OK.

Is the device suppose to flag you when getting close to full some how?

Re: Management service is offline

There should have been log entries when it got close to full.

Do you have email alerts configured?

Only issue now is Plex App says it is off but I can access from devices on the lan.

When I try to turn it on it gives an error but seems to be working??

Have reinstated Plex app but no change.

Re: Management service is offline

I am having the same problem after Beta 6.7.3 - T283 update, keeps telling me to retry startup which I have done a few times. RaedyNAS 314

I have booted into read only mode and it still says retry startup 91% and Management service is offline, should I try the OS Reinstall mode?

Re: Management service is offline

I can see you have rsyslog installed. Your logs for that have grown to be huge.

Re: Management service is offline

I emptied the rsyslog logs but after rebooting am now unable to get back in. I've diagnosed why the remote connection didn't work on 6.7.3 Beta 1 and reported that to engineering.

Re: Management service is offline

Thanks, do I need Rsync enabled or can I disable it? is this causing rsyslog logs to grow huge?

How do I get out of Remote Support mode in Raidar?

Re: Management service is offline

Rsync and rsyslog are two separate things. Rsyslog would have been put on the system by an app e.g. LogAnalyzer.

Are you comfortable with using SSH? I can't disable the Remote Support mode easily till you update to 6.7.3 Beta 2 (or later) once that's available.

Re: Management service is offline

Hi there, not familiar with SSH but have enabled it incase of any future issues that may arise from time to time.

Have you disabled Rsyslog so I won't have this problem in future.

I don't have any apps installed, mainly use the system to backup data from PC, FTP Server, ReadyCLOUD and ReadyDLNA
