Netgear Genie reboots my PC

I installed Netgear Genie version 2.3.1.57 on my Windows 8.1 Pro computer so that I can setup parental controls. Since installing Netgear Genie, my computer reboots after it is idle for some period of time.

1. Is this a known problem?
2. How can I eliminate this problem (other than uninstalling Netgear Genie)?
3. Is this product still actively developed/maintained? I've noticed other problems with the application.

if i may ask, what leads you to conclusion that Genie is the actual cause for your reboot problem?

My computer was working fine for months. The reboot problem started after installing Netgear Genie, so I uninstalled it after a couple of days. My computer was working fine again, so I reinstalled Netgear Genie and the problem returned. No other software was installed during this period, so I concluded Netgear Genie is the cause.

Never used it. I see no need for it. --bill
