Nighthawk app for Android

I have been trying to use the nighthawk app on my S22 ULTRA phone. and it cannot connect to my netgear cable modem. and i figured out why. The app is trying to connect to the router itself not my wifi that i have. but it cannot connect to the modem because i changed the password. When trying to connect the app it doesn't allow you to type in the password. this was bugging the hell out of me for weeks. i did not find out until i tried my tablet. and that's when i noticed it. a screen i saw on the tablet that i did not see on my phone. I think the only way to get around this is to go and change the password back to the password that is on the modem. I have seen many post here on the same issue but no one had a fix.....

Do you want to try to fix this issue, or just leave us all wondering?

Troubleshooting is painstaking process that entails knowing exactly what is happening and the kit that people are using.

Have you connected to the local wifi before you launch the app?

During the connection process, the app does not normally try to connect to the wifi. You've done that already.

When the app connects, the password it needs is for logging into the router. (The one associated with the admin username.)

The next step is to supply the login details that you set up for Anywhere Access.

Funny how Netgear's attempt to create a "simplified" way of working with devices actually manages to be so complicated.

I agree with you however mine is compatible with the app if it weren't I would not be able to connect the app to the modem using my tablet

Does that have anything to do with your issue?

I see no earlier mention of compatibility?

I was trying to explain how the system works. There is no need to mess around with wifi passwords.

You have not said which Netgear devices you are trying to connect to. As @microchip8 says, not everything supports the app.

It isn't easy to understand a lot of your first message.

Is the cable modem the same thing as the router?

Which password got changed? WiFi? Modem? Router?

Re: Nighthawk app for Android

Just chalk it up that I'm just a stupid person. I was always told to change passwords because stuff could be hacked. So it was probably stupid of me on changing the password. I should have left it alone so hackers can get into my system. Stupid me...I'm done with this I need to go find a forum that is as stupid as I am.
