PLP1200 not recognized by Genie 2.4.38 and Powerline Utility D 3.1.0.4
I have a network of various Netgear Powerline adapters
- XWN5001
- XAV5501
- PLP1200
Only the PLP1200 are not recognized and listed as un-named/unknown model in Genie and Powerline Utility.
The connections work fine. Unfortunately I cannot change the name of the adapters.
Anything I can do.

I have the exact same problem.
Connection appears to work but i cannot tell whether the connection is between the PLP1200 and the PLP1200 at the other end OR another powerline device i have at the house. Also cant tell what the speed is OR change the name.

Hi all,
As it stands, the NETGEAR Genie does not support the PLP1200. However, you can post this as a feature request on the Idea Exchange board linked below.

Re: PLP1200 not recognized by Genie 2.4.38 and Powerline Utility D 3.1.0.4
Still no support in 2.4.52. Just purchased these as an upgrade to 200Mbs netgear powerline plugs. How can I tell the tx/rx speed? Lasy devs? How can you release hardware with no software support and your own "Genie" software doesn't have a clue what its looking at. I clicked on the link above but looks like you have lots of requests for features ("Basic Features!") and none actually implemented so not going to waste my time. Any chance your dev can do 10mins work and add the PL1200/PLP1200 to the list of known devices.
Going to do post a warning on amazon now try and stop any other mugs purchasing these while they are on sale.
