When I connect to my router via its web interface, it says Parental Controls is disabled. Clicking it, only brings me to the NetGear website for parental controls. I installed the Genie app on both my phone and computer and it shows it as enabled and set to high. However, I can still browse pornography pages on both my phone and computer. I even tried setting a website specifically in the blacklist, but it still allows me to visit the site. I'm not using a bypass account or anything. Not sure if I'm supposed to modify the DNS servers or not or what else I need to do to make this work. It used to work.
@DexterJB I am having this same problem but after I updated the DNS values to the OpenDNS servers it still doesn't work. It shows parental control is enabled, I have it set to block porn, etc on openDNS, but can still get to any porn site.

Yes, and it used to work on all devices, not sure when it stopped working, but realized that porn became accessible (when it wasn't a few months ago) 3. Not sure what this applies to, I access netgear via routerlogin.net (that's also where I got the Firmware Version V1.0.0.52_1.0.81 in the upper right corner after logging in)
The NETGEAR Genie that I am referring to is the desktop program or application that you can install on your device/s to manage the Parental Controls settings. You may download and install it using the link below then check if you are able to adjust the filtering level.
Once you have the program/app installed, you can navigate to the Parental Controls settings. In addition, you may also use the link below to manage more settings.
@DexterJBwhat's the difference between the netgear genie app, and accessing the netgear platform via routerlogin.net, the interface/options look the same, and I already have an openDNS account set up through the parental settings and those are what's not working/filtering anything even though they say they're on to filter.

The interface looks to be the same, and when I go through parental controls on netgear, via the routerlogin, it takes me to my openDNS account in which I already set up filtering, but like I said doesn't work.
