What software replaces this as my Router R8000 has all if this on the interface.
Do I need to purchase something else to get at my backups now. The Readyshare software is not working and I was looking for a download to re-install it, but I would like to know if its compatible with my new OS

You might want to keep a Windows 7 or 10 PC on hand for backwards compatbility.
Or you might want to get into a actual NAS device. There not too spendy to start with. I've had mine for years and enjoy having access all the time. Never looked back to USB drives for back up.

Windows 11 has changed nothing in ReadySHARE.
Netgear has decided to remove this useful tool.

What do you want to do? There are piles of backup programs out there. They do different things in various ways.
Are you looking for something with cloud support?

Windows 7 is dangerous and should not be allowed anywhere near the Internet.
My experience is that Microsoft has changed very little between Windows 10 and 11 that matters beyond the interface. Even there, it has moved rather than removed things.
The idea that anyone should keep either for "backward compatibility" is a good joke but not something that anyone who understands Windows, and has used Windows 11, should take seriously.
If your PC can handle Windows 11, and the required added security features, don't let ReadySHARE put you off. Stuff that works in Windows 10 still works.
Sadly, the same cannot be said for MacOS, where Netgear seems incapable of updating some essential drivers.
