Company VPN connection keeps dropping since at least last 2 firmware updates
2 of us work from home using company VPN
I can conect fine from my wired Windows 10 PC through Cisco Anyconnect as do my wireless devices using the same XR500 Gaming router.
1 Windows 10 laptop had been working fine until probably 2 or so firmware updates ago. Using a Cisco Anyconnect client, the laptop will not keep a connection to VPN for more than about 30 seconds when docked using a wired LAN connection.
I was able to keep it connected using the Wireless connection for a while leading me to believe it was maybe something with firmware.
I've disabled QoS Anti-buffer bloat completely with same result. I toyed around with the anti-buffer percentages, tried allocating half my internet speed (even though the necessary speed is less than 1mb through VPN) to just that one devcie on both wireless and wired, no luck keeping it connected any longer on either connection even back at the settings that previously let it work via wireless.
I can take the same laptop and bypass the router direcftly to the modem and connect just fine. I can use a hotspot, VPN connection is fine. Only cannot connect throught he Netgear Nighthawk XR500 Router and it had been working since purchase.
What is preventing this connection? There are so many settings for gaming and QoS in here that prevent traffic from pulling away from gaming that I don't even know what to look at next. Gaming is definitely not the priority here. Only went with this router due to to robust assortment of options in the settings but, that seems to be preventing me from working at this point.

Re: Company VPN connection keeps dropping since at least last 2 firmware updates
Correct, disabled anti buffer in QoS setting but had no affect either way.
Current setting to 80%. We do a lot of streaming and don't really have any noticeable effect on gaming
No devices in geo-filter.
Not using vlan, ppoe, or ipv6.
Just changed the wan setting to disable SIP ALG and unchecked disable IGMP Proxying.

Re: Company VPN connection keeps dropping since at least last 2 firmware updates
No difference with any of the changes.
We do have a guest wifi set up. Same result as both 2.4 and 5ghz connections as well as wired. No connection route lets the vpn client connect. It actually will not even establish a connection at all now.
Jump to a mobile hotspot and it goes right through as well as bypassing router direct to modem.

Re: Company VPN connection keeps dropping since at least last 2 firmware updates
Kind of thought I was contacting support right here.
The router was purchased at the end of 2018 after paying for support on a previous router was unable to solve the intermittet connection issues of all devices preventing us from working efficiently.
We purchased this new router in hopes I could manipulate traffic a bit more to give us priority over gaming and streaming devices. Now less than 2 years later, cannot even establish a VPN connection. An incredibly common feature that should not be broken in any networking device.
Contemplating just buying a nice Cisco ASA and call it a decade. Rock solid!
Surely someone from netgear reads these forums and is able to provide some type of support for existing customers without having to cough up yet more money.
