Nighthawk dropping my internet randomly

Hey there. So I recently bought a night hawk router for gaming and it was fine for the first week but after that its been gradually dropping my connection randomly and this is starting to get on my nerves when I game. Does anyone know why this is doing what its doing and how can I fix it?
