Troubles installing my Nighthawk RX500 can i use the backup of my old Nighthawk?

Hi all,

My question i very simple but im not sure if its possible

Currently router: Nighthawk R7000 and backup the setting

Trying to install: New RX500,

My Question: Can i use the backup file from my old router to configure the new one?

Netgear has set up a community forum specifically for the NightHawk Gaming Router products. Most of the people who watch that forum are more likely to have experience with NH gaming router products and know how to work it better than those of us who follow this router forum.  The XR500 is a completely different FW system. So you can't migrate from one to the other.

I haven't tried it personally, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

The backup file only pertains to the Netgears Network settings as far as I'm aware so that should be transferrable over to the XR500.
