XR1000 QoS Upload still not working with no solution
its been like 4 years since the release of this router and lots of problems i will say but in particular im talking about QoS Upload in general. my fttp ADSL connection offers a PPPOE connection but i dont have to set it up, meaning i just i never have to set up PPPOE on any of my routers. but the xr1000 is infamously known to have problems with upload qos limiting and qos in general if your isp uses PPPOE. i will post a link from one thread that explains this very well and it was from back in 2021. its 2024 and still no addressing the issue or fix for it.. ive already posted about this before. ive tried every troubleshoot you can think of or tell me, tried the tips from Fraser and all the other guys from others posts, tftp fresh install, front to back, right to left. still the same problem. is there finally an answer to this?
heres the link to the post im talking about. i linked to when Fraser and a user talk about this problem to show its a well known issue -- https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-Pro-Gaming-DumaOS-3-0/QOS-Upload-Limits-amp-CC-Upload-don...

Re: XR1000 QoS Upload still not working with no solution
hey thats nice to hear and i hope the next update fixes these issues. i tried to reset router and update through tftp again and it managed to make the ui faster QoS finally was working decently for once, but i think i mightve found something that can help for the next update or help troubleshoot more... after i did tftp, i put QoS on Always and i moved the DL and UL sliders and for once it was capping my upload but then i found out if i move ANY of the sliders in the Bandwidth Allocation section, then it starts to do that little bug again where it uncaps my upload.. if i reset allocation, its back working again.. i think its still maybe a PPPOE problem but the Bandwidth Allocation is whats bugging it for what i found.

Re: XR1000 QoS Upload still not working with no solution
is there anything that comes to mind for why bw allocation would do this? unless its a pppoe/isp problem thats causing the bug in xr1000

Re: XR1000 QoS Upload still not working with no solution
the qos works only if i set the CC sliders and never touch any settings relating to bandwidth allocation.. if i touch any settings in the allocation section, i have to hit "Reset Distribution" to make it cap the upload again. but its only the upload side that bugs out and uncaps. the download speed stays capped just fine

Re: XR1000 QoS Upload still not working with no solution
share excess enabled.
like i said, i cant touch any setting in the bandwidth allocation section without it bugging out.. the only way QoS is going to keep my upload capped is if i set the CC sliders and thats it

Re: XR1000 QoS Upload still not working with no solution
its the same result on any speedtest i do. i thought this was a PPPOE issue cause i experience the same issues as others with the upload not capping.. but at least now i found a way where it can somewhat work lol.
my ISP is a fttp 30mbps download, 5mbps upload. they use a Calix ADSL modem. they do have a PPPOE page with a username and password but my routers always automatically connect DHCP anyways. interested to know what in the UI or settings of the XR1000 that is bugging because ive used other routers where it has no issue capping my upload

Re: XR1000 QoS Upload still not working with no solution
yes it happens on both, and the traffic rules dont bug it out. whether i have some or not, qos works fine. its only the bandwidth allocation part and anything in that section. no matter what i try to change there, it will uncap the upload until i reset distribution. so right now i just put the CC sliders and use traffic rules. ive done lots of testing on this router since ive had it and its the first time tftp worked good cause qos actually works now. before it would never work no matter what i did
