XR500 DC Every night

Hey all,

I've been having this problem for awhile now, Everynight around the same time my router DC's from the internet this affects all devices Wifi/Wired I've heard it could be a DHCP problem something to do with the lease expiring but im no expert i've tried factory reseting updating firmware changing power outlets nothing has worked, The only temporary fix is to turn it off then on when the DC happens

ps, I added an image of the Lease times just in case anyone wanted to see that, Thank you,

In LAN Setup, set the DHCP range to start at .50, then assign reserved IP addresses to devices between .2 & .49 so they're out of the DHCP range, apply, reboot from the interface, wait 2 minutes and see if that stops the disconnects.

I’m from Australia, my ISP is called “Aussie Broadband”, I don’t think they have a Idle disconnect feature and my household is usually using the internet around the same time it DC’s

Yes I’ve gave it some time to do some tests and it seems it was a power problem, I switch the routers power outlet too a different one and I haven’t had any type of Disruption since

Re: XR500 DC Every night

Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Re: XR500 DC Every night

Is there some sort of video or something kinda like a walkthrough i don't even know where to start with this DHCP range, Do i put .50 in the starting ip address ?, then add devices and put a number between .2 & .49 ?

Re: XR500 DC Every night

This was after doing the above? If so disable DHCP entirely after you've done it and see if it works then please.

Re: XR500 DC Every night

Might go over to NetDuma and get the beta FW and give it a try. I loaded it on my XR500 and works pretty good.

Re: XR500 DC Every night

Yes I would recommend setting the reserved IPs for each device as if you turn off DHCP without doing it the ones who don't have a reserved IP won't be able to connect to the router/internet.
