Xr500 DumaOS os not running
I recently purchased an xr500 secondhand from a guy who works in the network industry.
Every time I've tried to set it up I end up with a black screen saying "DumaOS is not running!)
A few points to note; the lad whom I purchased it from works in the network field and claimed he factory reset it prior to auction. After no success on my end I called him and he helped me as much as he could before suggesting tftpd64 protocols. We checked ip addresses, the ont is communicating with router, all is cosher in the regard. I don't think the xr500 is bricked because all lights are operating as normal (despite a factory reset multiple times as well as a 30/30/30 attempt) so a tftp setup might not work?
All my cables are servicable.
The internet light is orange and blinking or solid.
Every path I take always results in the same black screen with the same "dumaos is not running" text.
Please help. I'm not the most tech savvy guy but I'm persistent.
Kind regards
Jack.

Re: Xr500 DumaOS os not running
Otherwise before going through that try accessing via routerlogin.net/adv_index.htm that should take you to the settings without DumaOS. Then try to upgrade to the beta from here: https://forum.netduma.com/topic/51611-new-xr500-beta-firmware-33535/ see if that helps

Re: Xr500 DumaOS os not running
I ended up doing the nmrpflash. It worked to some degree, I managed to get to the OS, which is as far as I've got. However i couldn't seem to connect to the internet still, but that might be my lack of networking skills.
I tried a few things like dhcp and then assigning IP then all of a sudden I couldn't get back to the OS.
I'll try again tonight.
Connecting to the network via dumaOS should be in the manual?
Cheers

Re: Xr500 DumaOS os not running
What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Has a power cycle been performed after the XR is connected to the ISP modem, then after the XR is online, power it off for 15 seconds then back ON or reboot it from the WEB UI.

Re: Xr500 DumaOS os not running
Not too sure what mfr means, but its a Nokia G-1425G-A. I've successfully loaded the latest firmware.
I've performed on/off/on on the ont today, and cycled the xr a few times but not in that order.
Are you saying power cycle/off-on the ont or router prior the reboot the xr in UI?
Cheers

Modem Combo Units:
Your ISP Modem already has a built in router and wifi. This would be a double NAT (two router) condition which isn't recommended. This would be a double NAT condition which isn't recommended. https://kb.netgear.com/30186/What-is-Double-NAT
https://kb.netgear.com/30187/How-to-fix-issues-with-Double-NAT
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the NG router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the NG router gets from the modem. https://kb.netgear.com/25891/DMZ-on-NETGEAR-routers

3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the NG router to the modem, LAN to LAN configure AP mode on the NG router.

Try option #2 first...
Power cycle the XR router one more time after it's connected to the ISP ONT.
