I have a modem connected to the Nighthawk MR60 router. I will be changing the modem to accommodate fiber optic cable.
Do I have to upgrade the Nighthawk to a new model?

No. The MR accepts any RJ45 ethernet connection.
There maybe some configurations needed if the incoming Fiber service has a built in router. Recommend asking the ISP service for a ONT with out any built in router and wifi.
