Connecting multiple Nighthawk systems

I need to add another satellite to my MR60 Nighthawk Mesh WiFi System. It did not seem as though I could buy just one satellite, so I purchased a second system. Of course, this system has a different network password so the satellite will not connect to my existing system. One discussion I read, recommended that you could do it by putting the second router in Access Point Mode. If this is the solution, how do I put that router into APM? Or is there a better solution?

Re: Connecting multiple Nighthawk systems

I connected the new satellite to router via ethernet and the two boxes shared enough info that when I disconnected the wire they were still happily connected. Problem solved.

Did you try adding the satellite to your existing router?

Disconnect (turn off) existing satellites and set it up using a wired connection and the browser graphical user interface (GUI).

See the manual.

Visit the support pages:

Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

Check the section in the manual Set up the router as a WiFi access point

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

Nighthawk Mesh System - NETGEAR Communities

You might like to search there for messages related to your problem.

Re: Connecting multiple Nighthawk systems

Did you make sure the 2nd MS FW was same as what 1st system is using?

Did you try and sync the 2nd MS to the 1st system using the sync buttons?

Re: Connecting multiple Nighthawk systems

Glad you got it working. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Good to know.

Pity you had to buy a new bundle to get there.

Netgear needs better marketing to support people who want extra satellites.
