setting up nighthawk MK63 no internet connection

I am setting up from new an MK63 nighthawk and have bought a reconditioned HG612 modem. I have BT broadband FTTC.

Initally I get a blue light on the router which the goes early on in the setup saying no internet connection. Cables are fine as is the broadband. I guess its a router/modem connection but I cant see why its not connecting
