Nighthawk App Can’t Find CM1200

I’ve been unable to get the app to find my modem. I’ve had it for three months and have been able to access internet with no issues but the app still cannot find and connect to the modem. I’ve read other threads and have tried deleting and reinstalling, clearing cache, restarting set up...none of it works. What’s up with this app??

The app does not support modems, as far as I know.

"unable" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say what
you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

Regarding "cannot", see "not a useful problem description [...]",
above.

   Thanks for the helpful links.

"it"?  Regarding "not work", see "not a useful problem description
[...]", above.

Is there anything in the instructions for "this app" which mentions a
_modem_, or does everything discuss a _router_?  I see, for example:

Nighthawk App makes it easy for you to install your router [...]

      https://www.netgear.com/home/services/nighthawk-app/

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (modem) model number,
and look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read.
Look for "app".  Find anything?  Further reading should reveal how to
manage the modem using a web browser (not any app).

   Simple, but often effective.

Re: Nighthawk App Can’t Find CM1200

I explained that the nighthawk app is not finding my modem. Which explained what I meant by “unable.” Please do not be rude. I’m here for help. I also did not save threads and do not know how to share them here. Just as with your issue with me saying “unable” I also explained specific things I tried from those threads. Did you miss that as well? I have explained as far as I am able: nighthawk app cannot find modem. Exactly what the app tells me. Exactly what I’m explaining here and in my original post. I’m sorry I’m not explaining the way you wish but this is how I know how to.

Interesting! The modem came with an insert that mentioned using the app.

It really didn't.  If I wanted to do with my own equipment, what you
did with yours, then what, exactly, should I do?  Fetch and install some
version of the Nighthawk App on some kind of mobile device like your
(unspecified) device, and then, _what_, exactly?

> [...] the app still cannot find and connect to the modem. [...]

A clear description of what _does_ happen would be more useful
than a vague description of what does _not_ (or "cannot") happen.

> [...] Please do not be rude. [...]

Please do not expect to deal with psychics who can see what you did,
and what happened when you did it.

> [...] I also explained specific things I tried from those threads.

Describing what you did to try to solve the problem is less helpful
than describing the actual problem would have been.

> [...] nighthawk app cannot find modem. Exactly what the app tells me.
> [...]

The app displayed a message which said, "cannot find modem"?  Or does
"exactly" mean something to you which is different from what it means to
me?  Which part of "actual actions" or "actual results (error messages,
[...]" was unclear?

> [...] The modem came with an insert that mentioned using the app.

   Can't see that document, either.

The other guy seemed to understand quite clearly. But thanks for wasting my time.
