R7000 or R7500

Hello,

im about to buy a new Router and want to take either the R7000 or the R7500.

The price isn't really that problem, the R7500 is only about 20€ more expensive.

Important is the stability and range. The R7000 is more stable than the R7500. There are a bunch of bad reviews about the R7500 on Amazon(.de) and I don't know which to buy. Has someone either the R7000, the R7500 or even both routers and may share his experiences about them?

The dynamic QoS from the R7500 has convinced me to think about this router. I use about 5 devices simultaneously and the PC with the most need is furthest away from the Modem/Router. So if I play games or download something I get a bad ping and bad speed if the other devices are in the network at the same time.

I can't take it anymore so I want to buy the most stable router with the highest coverage and the highest speed at a distance.

Please help me. Thank you!

It's your call of course. I'm quite happy with my 7000's.. The architecture is Qualcomm, which did not work out the way they intended. If you see the 7500 on sale, it's for a reason.. I'll tell you this te sweet spot won't be the 7500.. But, hey, it's your $$$..

The 7000 is a more stable router than the 7500. The AC1900 is the sweet spot at this time. You can check out this SNB on the subject. They talk about other devices, but also about the the two routers you are interested in..

Yeah, but the 7500 FW could get updated and then it's more stable. I mean, is it worth to get the 7500 because it got Dynamic QoS and maybe a brighter future than the 7000? I don't really want to throw away 150€ and buy an newer Router in 2 Years, because then the sweet spot will be AC2350.

Re: R7000 or R7500

At present R7000 is more mature and it has some 3rd party f/w options as well; Merlin, Kong's dd-wrt. etc.

I had both one time. It was a haste to replace R7000 running very well on dd-wrt. Had R7500 for a month or so

and replaced it with Linksys EA8500 which is very stable. I have quite a few things connected to this router

on our home network.

Thank you for your reply, but I think I'll stick to the R7000.
