AX12 Won't connect to Comcast Modem
I've got a Comcast Arris cable modem and configured it for bridge mode. I connect it to my AX12 router and I get an internet light on the router so everything looks good. However, I can't connect to the internet. I've rebooted both modem and router several times with no change. If I use the Comcast router everything works but I'd rather use my AX12. The AX12 also is working since I have used it with another modem. Does anyone know what might be going on?

Re: AX12 Won't connect to Comcast Modem
After you've made your connection, did you power cycle everything?
Starting with the bridged device: 1. unplug from power source the turn off
2. unplug your Netgear Router
3. Turn off Computer
Turn on your Network: 1. Plug in bridged device(modem) let it come fully online.
2. Plug in your router, turn it on

Re: AX12 Won't connect to Comcast Modem
Thank you but yes I have done a full power cycle of everything. The modem comes online, the router comes online and I get the internet light but when I try to access anything on my computer it fails to connect. Comcast denies that it is their problem and I honestly don't think it is. The router has worked flawlessly in the past with a different modem.

Re: AX12 Won't connect to Comcast Modem
I have not tried to do that. I will attempt to login to the router and report back. Once logged in is there anything I need to check or do to the router?

Re: AX12 Won't connect to Comcast Modem
yes, a whole lot......the important thing is getting the router setup correctly. I'll run thru what I would do.
1 log into router thru the internet using : routerlogin.net or 192.168.1.1
2. if sucessful you'll be taken thru varies steps to set up your router.
3. If the router cannot detect a connection, maybe you have something misconnected or a bad cable.
4 say, you're in.........the router's UI has 2 tabs: Basic & Advanced
select BASIC >WIRELESS here you can select the different functions: ENABLE AX, SMART CONNECT, XMIT PWR LEVELS, ENABLE 20/40 MHz. .....
select ADVANCED> ADVANCED SETUP>WIRELESS SETTINGS here you can select features like BEAMFORMING, MU-MIMO- AX WIFI MODE .....
GOOD LUCK!

Re: AX12 Won't connect to Comcast Modem
I have the same setup, XB6 modem and AX12. I was not able to get bridge mode working either. The router never got a dynamic IP assignment. Comcast support even tried helping out. They were very helpful but after failing to get it to work, Comcast gave me an account credit.
However, I'm getting much better overall WiFi out of the Comcast XB6 than I am with the AX12. So I'm debating a return. I have both APs running now. Which I need for my 802.11ac clients to even get a stable connection.
We shouldn't have to stuggle so hard getting a $500 router to work! It should be amazing out of the box.

Re: AX12 Won't connect to Comcast Modem
This sounds more like an issue with the Comcast XB6 firmware, not so much an RAX120 issue....

Re: AX12 Won't connect to Comcast Modem
I think this is the problem I am having. I get everything connected up, get an internet light on the router but I don't think I get an IP. I have no idea why this is happening. I had the AX12 working just fine with a different modem. Maybe I need to switch back to my old modem and get rid of the Comcast one. I'm not even able to see the router when I try to browse to it. Comcast sees nothing wrong when they check.

Re: AX12 Won't connect to Comcast Modem
The problem could be on either end but it's hard to tell. I suspect Comcast firmware is the issue. We would need an engineer from either side to debug. All I can tell is that the asignments are not being negotiated between them.

Re: AX12 Won't connect to Comcast Modem
Correct. I may switch to my own modem. I doubt this will ever be resolved if we need engineers from both sides to debug it. Thanks.
