CAX-80 with R8000 acting as an extender/repeater?
Currently have the R8000 and EX8000 and have been relatively pleased with the combo (with the exception of having to power cycle my EX8000 every once in a while to re-establish connection to the router). Had to upgrade my modem to DOCSIS 3.1 and decided to go with the CAX-80 and gain the Wifi 6. Is it possible to utilize either the R8000 (would rather try and use that instead of the EX8000 because if there is ever a problem, it's always with the EX8000!) as an extender? If either of these will potentially work, will they play nice with Wifi 5? I know there is a corresponding extender for the CAX80, but would like to save some coin and repurpose what I have. If anyone has any suggestions for how I should set my network up, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thanks in advance for the help!

Re: CAX-80 with R8000 acting as an extender/repeater?
The R8000 doesn't have extender/repeater mode. But you could run an ethernet cable, use powerline, or use a moca adapter to hardwire it in and run it in access point mode.
I've got my EX8000 running off my CAX80 right now for testing purposes. Its worked well for me and been pretty simple to use.
