Re: Cannot connect ps5

No.. not unless you provide really basic info

which router model?
which frimware version?
which band are you trying to connect the PS5? 2.4 or 5/6 GHz?

Re: Cannot connect ps5

I'm sorry I'm not an expert in this

 Nighthawk Wi-Fi 5 AC

V1.2.8.40

- I'm trying to connect to 2.4

I'm using smart connect (2.4 5.6) I'm not sure if thats wise or not

I did reset the router but still issue happens

everything else connects fine

(PS5 is not on my blocked list)

if I use another router ps5 connects just fine

Re: Cannot connect ps5

Nighthawk WiFi 5 AC is not a model, it's a WiFi class. Look at the label of your device, most likely it starts as Rxxxx (eg, R7000, R7800, etc)

First thing I'd try is disable Smart connect and name your 2 bands (SSIDs) differently, then try again and report.

Re: Cannot connect ps5

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6 is recommended.

Check to see if the game console connects via ethernet LAN cable. CAT6 is recommended.

Maybe something to contact Sony support about for additional help and information regarding there product.

Re: Cannot connect ps5

You can try disabling the AX feature. It sometimes can interfere with some devices, though it shouldn't, but worth a try.

And a RAX120 router is WiFi-6 (AX), not 5 (AC) 😉
