RAX50 - can a DHCP table be imported from a NG Wifi 5 router?
Hi
I have a Nighthawk AC1900 which is absolutely fine, except that recently it threw a bit of a tantrum (now resolved; unlikely to repeat). It made me realise how dependent I am on the router. I since bought an RAX50, which I intend to hold as a back/emergency replacement.
I have about 80 devices on my network. About 60 of them I have given fixed IP addresses to in the AC1900 DHCP IP allocation table. There are a couple of other little bits I have set in the router to make it play nicely with Nas drives, Sonos, and so on. I'd like to be able to save the settings on the AC1900 and import them into the RAX50, to save reinventing the wheel should the time come, but missing out some spokes.
I've managed to back up the AC1900 config settings to a file. But the RAX50 does not like that file. There don't seem to be any optional parameters at either the saving stage or the upload stage. Is there any way to take the AC1900 settings and apply them to a RAX50? Or will I have to reinvent the wheel?
TIA

Off the top of my head, I'd be looking at renaming the back up file (fast) or, failing that, screenshot/phone pics of all the D7000's setup pages and systematic config of the RAX50 (slow).
Best I got, good luck.

This has been a long standing request. Sadly, it just won't work. Different hardware and different firmware don't play nicely together.
Not sure that any hardware maker offers a "settings transfer" option.
Screenshots are about as good as it gets.
For some devices, , network attached storage (NAS) for example, one way around this is not to have an Address Reservation on the router, but to assign a Fixed IP address on the device.
Just another user with time on their hands.
