Looking to upgrade to Orbi Wifi 6 Mesh system. Our house is about 3,000 square feet. 45-50 devices roughly. Family of 6.
I have trouble getting a good signal in my garage where I work out and like to use Apple TV, so hence why I want a mesh system.
What are the primary differences between the AX4200 and AX6000? Is it worth the roughly $150 extra for the AX6000?
Thank you!

Been using this for over a week now and performance is good. Not sure what I am missing out on by not spending the extra $200. We have 6 poeple in this house, over 40+ devices with kids streaming all the time. And my AppleTV in my garage works just fine while I work out. So what I don't know won't hurt me, I guess.
Overall, I am happy with the 4200.

Re: AX4200 vs AX6000
Input the RBK752 and RBK852 series models in to this site and download the spec sheets for each and compare for youself:
https://www.netgear.com/support/
Review the connection rates between the two, I believe mostly they are the same accept for the 2.4Ghz radio connection rate which would be different.
30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router

Re: AX4200 vs AX6000
Its nice to have some flexible products out there that are a bit cheaper. One doesn't always have to have the higher performer. LOL.
At leaset this gets some in to the AX realm for there needs.
Thanks for posting.

Re: AX4200 vs AX6000
I have installed the 4200. I saw the price and then with the 10% netgear discount I would give it a shot. Basically it's $200 less (although I didn't realize until after the fact it was 6 antennas vs 8 antennas.
Speeds - both wired and wireless are working much better than with the old orbi. Before I had to go direct into the modem in order to max out, now I'm pretty close to max wired with the orbi connected as the router rather than an AP.
So far so good. It "feels" faster although I don't know if that's me justifying the purchase or it really is.. 🙂

Re: AX4200 vs AX6000
This is super helpful - thanks for the details. Mind a dumb question? I'm not a "techie"... 🙂 just trying to feel my way through this.
If my internet service plan only provides up to 400Mbps, then - am I right to think that I wouldn't gain anything by going with the AX6000 over the AX4200?

Correct. Even Orbi AC would work well for you.

Re: AX4200 vs AX6000
I've used both the RBK852 and now the RBK752 in a similar situation as yours. I have Spectrum 400/20 in about 2700 sq. ft. 2 story house. I get around 480/23 everywhere with no drops or dead spots anywhere with about 30 devices. I have them set up on opposite sides of the house, different floors about 35 apart.
I didn't see a big difference in terms of performance between the two to justify the additional $200 for the RBK852 but no complaints it's a great system for the price.
